Welcome to Gratitude Journal (“the App”). We respect your privacy. This Policy explains what information the App uses and how it is handled.

2. Information We Handle

On-Device Data Only

Gratitude Journal stores data locally on your device to provide core features. Examples include:

• Your daily gratitude entries (up to three short text lines) and their dates
• Derived app states such as simple streak counters
• Basic preferences (e.g., theme, reminder time)

No personal identifiers (e.g., name, email, precise location) are collected. Your content is not uploaded to our servers.

Optional Device Permissions

• Notifications (optional): daily reminders if you enable them.
• Storage/Share (optional): used only when you explicitly export or share content you select.

Analytics / Crash Reports (Optional)

Not enabled by default. If privacy-friendly analytics or crash reporting is introduced later, this Policy and in-app notices will be updated. Your journal text is never included in such reports.

3. How We Use Information

• Display and manage your daily gratitude entries
• Show recent history and maintain a gentle streak
• Maintain stability and performance (e.g., via anonymized crash data if you opt in later)

4. Children’s Privacy

The App is usable without sign-in and contains no sensitive content. Parents/guardians should supervise use by children as appropriate for their region.

5. Data Security

Your data is stored on your device using platform-provided storage. We do not operate a cloud backend for your entries.

6. Third-Party Services

Gratitude Journal does not sell or share your data with third parties. If future versions add optional services (e.g., Google Play Billing for premium features, ads, or crash reporting), we will update this Policy and provide clear in-app controls and links to their privacy policies.

7. Your Choices & Controls

• Edit / Delete: Modify or delete entries in the App.
• Clear All Data: Uninstalling the App removes local data. If a “Clear Data” option is available, it erases all saved entries and preferences on your device.
• Exports / Shares: Any file or screenshot you export is shared only by you and remains under your control.

8. Changes

We may update this Policy as the App evolves. Updates will appear on this page with a revised effective date.
